There are several ways to search the FBC New Media Library. Our favorite way is to drag the black scroll bar to flip artwork covers to see the different messages. If, however, you want to go right to a particular message, we recommend typing a keyword, a sermon title or the speaker’s name in the search field at the top right corner of the fbc.org/newmedia page. Click the “Search” button and a narrowed list of links will appear from which you may choose.
Scroll to the series album cover, then click on the text below the black scroll bar that reads, “CLICK HERE TO TOGGLE ALL SERMONS FOR THIS SERIES.” You will see several messages appear that you can click on and listen to.
Due to popular demand, older messages are still available. Simply click on the text link “ARCHIVE” at the bottom of the fbc.org/newmedia page and you will be redirected to the FBC Audio Archive Library. Type in your date, scripture reference, or keyword criteria in the proper field(s) and you will be able to search for files as far back as August 1993.
The worship portion of the service is often edited out to conserve on storage space and to allow for a faster playback speed. This smaller file is automatically played in your browser window when you click “WATCH VIDEO.” If you would like to see the entire service, we do offer a larger file that you may download directly to your hard drive. You do this by first finding the message or date you would like to watch. Second, click the “DOWNLOAD” button to find the service video (.mpg4) file. Clicking on this text link downloads this file to your hard drive, allowing you the option of watching the full service at your convenience.
Please do! We’ve even tried to make it easy to encourage you to do so. Find the message you want to send and click on the “EMAIL” link at the bottom of the fbc.org/newmedia page. Fill in the proper information, then Click “SEND” and your friend will automatically be emailed a quick link to the message of choice. There’s even a space that allows for a private note of encouragement from you if you so desire.
Absolutely not to all of the above! You do not have to subscribe to use this web site. Any information you do provide, such as when emailing messages to friends, is not collected. The FBC New Media Site is free to any and all who wish to use it. Please note that everything we offer for download is FREE, but for media the church is asked to record to disc, we charge a nominal fee of $3 to cover our production and material costs.
Absolutely. There are still occasions that call for a message on CD. Click on the “ORDER” button at the bottom of the fbc.org/newmedia page and you will be directed to send an email for this purpose. Please type in the message title, message date and speaker name. Your order will be processed in about 48 hours and may be picked up at the church during regular office hours. A nominal fee $3, payable to the church, is due upon receipt of the CD. This fee covers the production and material costs.
In that instance, we recommend you preload your files while you have an Internet connection and store them for later use. You do this by first finding the message you want to hear and then by clicking the “DOWNLOAD” button. You will be given a choice of downloading an audio (.mpg3) or a full service video (.mpg4) file to your hard drive that you may play back at your convenience without an Internet connection necessary.
In some cases the answer is, "Yes." You can check to see if sermon notes are available by clicking the “DOWNLOAD” button underneath the message you want to hear. If sermon notes are available, you will find an Acrobat file (.pdf) along side of the audio (.mpg3) and the full service video (.mpg4) files. Clicking on the “SERMON NOTES” link will download the file to your hard drive. Open that document and print it out on your printer for a hard copy to follow along with.
Clicking on this button gives you a selection of ways to bookmark the fbc.org/newmedia page for your convenience.
The “SUBSCRIBE AUDIO” button, located just above and to the left of the album covers, will take you to a FREE podcast service available through iTunes®. A podcast is a media file that is automatically distributed by subscription over the Internet using "Really Simple Syndication" (RSS) feeds. It is designed for playback on mobile devices and personal computers.
On the First Bible Church of Decatur iTunes page, you will see a selection of podcast messages that you can manually select to download or listen to. If, however, you would like for the latest sermons to be automatically downloaded to your iTunes library, you’ll need to subscribe to the service while on the FBC iTunes page.
It does save you the time of visiting the fbc.org/newmedia site to see if we’ve added the latest messages. Whenever you boot iTunes, your computer will automatically check and download any new FBC sermons that you don’t have yet. From your iTunes library, you will be able to play the file, download the message to your iPod, burn a CD or delete it altogether.
The fbc.org/newmedia site is the most visited section of our web site. People all over the world are getting the Good News about Jesus Christ through this exciting ministry! If you have a servant’s heart and a passion for God, we’d love to talk with you. Please email us with your areas of interest at info@fbc.org.
